Firsts steps - Configuration - Search for records.

Sandra G.
Hi,
Just installed Vufind in my computer. I made a search and it showed No Results. I checked in my localbhost and it is created a database with 15 empty tables (change_tacker, record, user...).
I would like to search to several libraries(like Scopus or IEEE or...) through just one search made with vufind but i dont know if it is possible or where to put some code to connect to the records.
If you could help me if would be great.
Thanks.

Sandra,

By default, VuFind assumes that you are going to index metadata records into its Solr index. It also contains code to connect to third-party aggregators like Summon, EBSCO Discovery Service and Primo Central (see https://vufind.org/wiki/configuration:third-party_content for more details). We don't currently have direct bindings to Scopus or IEEE; however, if those services offer adequate APIs, it would be possible to write connectors. The process for hooking up a new service is described at https://vufind.org/wiki/development:howtos:connecting_a_new_external_data_source, but this is admittedly a long and complex process.

I hope this helps give a little more background on the system, but please feel free to ask more questions if there's anything more you'd like to know. I'm happy to help!
